So last night was the opening reception for the Three Rivers Community College Student Art Show, which showcases work from all of the students in the art dept. We had a lot of people come, and the show looks great. A few of my friends won awards for a bunch of different mediums, as well as myself for Best Design. For a piece that I don't even have photos of yet, because I didn't feel that it was that strong at all. I did it as an assignment for Intro to 2D Design which I did as an independent study last semester.
I have some pictures of it and myself on :iconwhitefang514:'s camera. So when I get them/take some nice ones myself of the piece I'll post it up as a Deviation.

If you live in CT and wanna' check out the show it'll be up all week I believe.

I've been pretty busy lately getting all set up for my Graduate Show and all that. Which went great, I posted about it on my Tumblr here: [link] check it out if you'd like.

I've also got some work in the normal TRCC Student show which has a reception at the end of the week here. I'll post about that once I've gotten some pictures of that show as well. I'm trying to get more organized in hopes that it'll make me more motivated to work on more artwork. I need some sort of box, so that I can break out of it. I've been like that since High School.

Well I just wanted to write a quick update, I'll post more as more comes to mind/more art gets done.

I'm going to be taking place in a show for everyone graduating within the last two semesters. I'll be showing all sorts of work from what I did during my semesters at Three Rivers to some stuff I've been working on lately to show.

The show will be up from April 18th until the 25th. So if you can't make the reception just stop by and check out my work as well as the work of Suntasy Gernhard, Tara Lukaszewicz, and Sarah Truax.

It will be in the gallery on the second floor of the school at: 574 New London Turnpike, Norwich, CT 06360. I'll post more about it as we approach the date of the event!

So I've got an Associate's Degree.

In December I finished the last semester of my Associate's Degree at Three Rivers Community College. So I've got an Associate's Degree in Visual Fine Arts, so now I'm looking for a normal job around here while I work on my portfolio and decide if I'm going to continue any further with education or just learn myself what I need to to get into concept art/digital art in general.

I was having a lot of trouble with my laptop, but my friend helped my get it cleaned out and cooled off, and I haven't had any problems since then, and it's been about a week. I'm also working on building myself a new PC so that I can play games and work on digital work more easily. I'm looking into starting to sell prints, so I'll be figuring that out and creating some more finished pieces.

One of the first will be a cleaned up and finished version of this piece.

I'll also be working on my Hoverbike piece more as well.

Tomorrow I'll be starting a can sculpture of a certain female bounty hunter, so expect some shots of that soon. Then in April I'll be a part of the Graduate show at my college from April 18th-25th with the opening reception on the 18th from 6:00-8:00 P.M. so if you're going to be in CT come check it out. I'll post more about it when we've got fliers up and such.

I'm also working on building a game with some friends, something called Project 'Ton-port, it'll look something like this.

Let me know if you'd be interested in commissioning anything. I'll do sketches of pretty much anything especially if it's similar to the stuff I usually draw pen/pencil/digital lines for let's say $10 (through PayPal).
Or if it's more elaborate or a can sculpture E-mail me and we can work something out at: caveryart001@gmail.com

I'm gonna' try and post more often, so keep an eye out here.

It ended up not being as easy as I'd expected. I made it through though. I'm going to be working on doing a lot more work while I have the free time. I'm looking into setting up a way to sell some prints. So I'll come up with some ideas, if anyone would like to commission anything too let me know. We can figure something out. I'll post some more work I did over the semester as I get photos of them cleaned up.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Is pretty awesome, I may have a lot of art to do, and a couple classes are kinda' remedial-ish. The people I get to see and do art with everyday make it worth it though. My friends are pretty cool. Who else would have an epic battle with me while wearing Master Chief and Optimus Prime helmets in the middle of a craft fair where I'm selling art. haha

3-D is hilarious, 2-D is easy since it's an independent study, Publication Design is so easy I skipped twice, and the class was so behind that what I had done was now due when I got there. haha People have no idea how to use computers for art. Ceramics 2 is cool 'cuz I'm the only on in it. So I do what I want, I'll upload some work in progress shots of my tiles I'm working one. I just glazed them so they need to be fired again now. What's my other class? .... I always forget my classes until I go to them or do work for them... Oh yeah Portfolio Prep. is cool, since we just work on filling out and polishing our portfolios towards jobs and schools.

I need to tweak the Hover bike piece: [link] It's not busy or lively enough, it need to have much more going on so much that it's almost obnoxious to give it that little bit more. I'm working on a refined digital landscape painting, and a pen/ink and watercolor piece as well.

ps. I'll be setting up a DA Portfolio, so once I do I'll letcha' now so you can see all my work in a more professional manner (as professional as DA can get).

See ya' later the few people who read these. haha -Cody

Hey y'all, so I'm getting into school here, after a 4 day weekend for labor day. I have so much crap to bring in every day for my classes. Today of course it's pouring too. I'm working on finishing the WIP I just uploaded: [link] I'll refine, and end up re-drawing most of it.

Someone's buying one of my can sculptures so that's awesome. I also have an opportunity to sell more at a fair thing at the college here. Who knows though, I don't know if I have time to make more IN time.

My Intro to 3D class is a joke, and my Publication Design class is annoying since last class my instructor spent the whole time explaining how to use the selection tool in photoshop. Whatever though, after here, wherever I go will be someplace where the people going to school with me should care about art and actually be good at it.

I'll journal more later if I find some time or inspiration. Peace Out.

So yesterday my work was posted on the front page of Recyclart.org, which is a website all about creating and sharing artwork made from recycled materials. There's some pretty cool stuff posted there. Check out my post here: [link]

It's all stuff I've got up here, but I thought it was a really cool. Thanks to Recyclart for posting it! I'll try to be posting more as the semester starts and I kick the art into high gear, I have 5 art classes in my last semester here at my Community College. Leave me some comments and feedback on my work sometime, and if you already do it's greatly appreciated.

Yuppers, it's a verb. Trust me. haha I'm working on sitting down and doing more art everyday I can, I get in the bouts where I do nothing but draw non-stop. Then I'm dry for like 2/3 weeks. I need to get over that crap. haha
I'm working on a game project with my cousin, brother, and some friends. If anyone know some coding, and would like to get in on a 2D side-scrolling mech-shooter let me know. We can use all the help or knowledge we can get.
It's late now, so I'm gonna' head to bed soon. I'll post something tomorrow.

Hey everybody, I'm looking for someone who'd be interested in trying to render some of my bots and weapon ideas in a modelling program. I can do some 3 view sketches and such. It'd be cool to work with someone who's good at it. So let me know if anyone's interested. Comment or note me here or e-mail me at Cry0prime@aim.com thanks.

So after all of the problems with the sale, my Professor suggested that I try to sell some sculptures at the student art show reception (which was Friday night). The original plan was for me to set up outside and see what happened. Then Thursday she told me I was going to be in the gallery with all of the other works. Sweet!
A lot of people saw my pieces and though they were really cool, and a few people asked me about them, but only one person is interested in buying one. One of the guys in my painting class. So hopefully that pans out. I could use a little money.
I have a painting to finish tonight, and a drawing to finish and get printed tomorrow. Then I'll finally be done doing pieces for school, and I can get back to working on my Photoshop paintings and such. I'm making a can sculpture for someone that asked for one, but after that I don't think I'll make another one for a while.

So today's sale was a bust. Not only was the gallery I was supposed to be in locked, until nearly 15 minutes out of my hour were up because no one knew I was supposed to be there even though my name was on a freaking poster taped to the door.

Not a single person I didn't already know entered the gallery, at least 50-100 people walked by looked in and passed without opening the door. One guy even took the time to look at all the art on the walls of the gallery, and on my table then leave.

Long story short I'll be looking to sell some of these pieces so if you're in the area and looking to get one let me know by e-mailing me at Cry0prime@aim.com. Or send me a note here on Deviantart, or post on my wall on my Facebook page.

Oh, and I still have yet to hear about what happened with the Scrap Art contest for the Aquarium, even though they were supposed to notify people on Monday night.

Thanks for all the favs and comments on my work, I'd love to hear what more people think, so comment if you have a second!

So at the beginning of this week my good friend Jake from Colorado texts me saying that he thinks my Gyarados was on some website called Reddit. So I go and check it out, an lo and behold. It was mine! So I did some looking around and found out that it had been taken from a Tumblr. From someone who had taken my picture and without asking posted it up, not claiming it as their own, but still.

So I made an account on Reddit and claimed it as mine, linking to here and my Facebook page. Then I find out that it was apparently reposted on Tumblr about 3000 times! I was a little upset that people liked it that much but didn't know it was mine.

So I went to bed and then the next morning I wake up to about a 1000 Deviantart messages. My Gyarados had been made a Daily Deviation! I was pretty excited that out of all this something good like that could come, then over the next few days it exploded, I can't believe the amount of people who Favorited and commented on it.

I'd like to thank everyone who did either of those things, it means a lot to hear that so many people like what I do.

So that's my little journal entry and thanks to everyone else around here! I'm working on a few digital paintings right now, and I'll have a couple more can sculptures coming soon. So stay tuned and let me know what ya' think I as I post stuff up here and here: [link]

I'm looking forward to try and trounce some people at Recycled Art again in this years contest at the Mystic Aquarium coming soon.

Hey everyone,

So it's Jan. 2012 and I last updated this... I don't remember and I'm too lazy to open up another tab to check.

It's time for an update, i did fairly well in my classes last semester except for a last minute mishap which ended up leaving my Digital Photography teacher with a blank disc and me in Colorado. I ended with a C, but know I could have done better.

I have 4 more classes this semester, after this I'll have one more, or if I transfer to ECSU in the fall I'll be out of Three Rivers at summer time.

I'll be taking Art History 2, Drawing 2, whoopy! another drawing class -_- , Painting 1 and an online Digital Publication and Design class.

I've been doing nothing, but art over the past few days since I got back from Colorado, and i plan to do a lot more this semester, I need to improve. I'm never satisfied with where I'm at.

Good luck in the last year of our existence. haha Happy New Year everyone!

Hey everyone, what's up? Just writing a journal because I never do. I've been doing nothing but art the past few days. I've had a lot going on and not a lot of time. I need to make more time for my art.
I got Halo: Anniversary at midnight last week, it's a pretty good game. Neat to see everything a little updated, but there's a lot of things they could have just tried harder on. Whatever, Bungie is still the best for Halo.
If anyone ever wants to comment on anything please feel free. haha I don't get a lot of comments on here, also check out my Facebook page I have now too. [link] Add me and chat with me there too. I'm always looking for legitimate feedback.
That's about it for now, Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Hey everyone, just popping in to say that I've just put up my newest can sculpture, a Fresca Dragon [link]
I've also been asked to make about 4 or 5 more to sell to people at my local comic shop! Arkham Asylum in Norwich Connecticut([link]. I play Magic the Gathering there on Fridays, and brought up the dragon to show some of my friends there, and people loved it! So I'll be making more now, posting more now. I still suck at posting in this journal here. Someone remind me when it's been like a month or two and I haven't posted alright?
Also I've had a Facebook page for my art for a little while, "like" me on there to see more of my stuff and interact over there too! [link]
Gotta' get some daily challenges in Halo Reach now! See ya'!

So I'm terrible at keeping up with this thing. especially since I've been even busier this year than normal. I moved to Connecticut transferred to a new Community College. Where I'm going to my Associate of Fine arts, I'm looking at schools for after this now. Trying to figure out where I want to take my art and my life.

I've been working on my photoshop painting skills this summer. I'm sometimes happy with what I produce and sometimes not. I still have no attention span to work on anything for an extended period of time. Especially without feedback from other artists. Which I have only one real artist friend in Ct. Hopefully I'll find more through school here this coming semester.

I've been visiting my friends and family back in Fort Collins for the last week and accomplished more artwork in a few days than in months in Ct, that's what having a job can do to you. Hopefully I'll be able to make time once I'm home.

Seeing a lot of movies while I've been in Colorado, Rise of the Apes was fantastic i loved the whole movie. Way better than I think anyone has expected at all. Transformers 3(which I saw early) was a lot better than the second one, but it still is no where near as good as the original which was disappointing. Cowboys and Aliens was pretty good, but the first half was kind of slow and the cowboy half was western enough, we were spoiled by 3:10 to Uma and True Grit.

So I'll try to update more than twice a year. Keep on Arting(that's right, it's a verb).

So I went to see Tron: Legacy the day it came Out because no where within a half hour of where I now live had a midnight showing. which while lame was alright because the movie was well worth the wait. It was beautiful from the costumes to the arenas. To the fantastic vehicles and I love all the nods to the original film. It was great to finally see a movie I. 3D that took advantage of it and didn't use it as a gimmick. I never saw Avatar in 3D but I heard it's what made the film for some people. So long story short go see it! I'll be uploading much more art as I scan stuff. Happy Holidays to everyone no matter what You celebrate. This time of year is for being with friends and family so enjoy yourselves!
